形态描述：植物体单独形成片状丛或夹杂于其他藓类之中，淡绿色，常透明。茎匍匐或先端上升，分枝，表皮透明，上表皮细胞长方形，50 μm X 50 (70) 一90 μm；茎横切面上表面平，下表面凸出，有时上下表面均凸出，直径6—8个细胞，表皮细胞10—14个，上表皮大，下表皮小，内部有18-24个厚壁小细胞。假根多，末端呈头状。叶片斜生于茎枝上，背缘突出，沿茎下延，呈圆形，基部7—10个细胞宽，2裂达1／3—1／2；2裂瓣呈钳形尖部内曲，裂角小于45°，约20°，裂瓣尖端1—2个细胞；叶细胞大，无色透明，叶中部细胞5—6边形，33—50 μm x 55～70 μm；油体小，2—3 μm，多数缺。腹叶仅存于生殖枝上。雌雄同株。雌器苞生于茎腹面短枝上；雌苞叶成对，3—5裂披针裂片，全缘，腹苞叶2 (3) 裂；蒴萼长椭圆形，有3条纵褶，萼口分裂成毛状，毛长3—5个细胞。孢子粒状，12-14 μm。芽胞壁薄，椭圆形，15—20 μm X 25—35 μm。
